The goal of this course is for your child to learn some fundamentals in science specifically in the areas of physics & chemistry. While I try to give different types of assignments to meet the needs of all my different learners, it can be impossible to reach all my students all the time. The purpose of assignments are to help you review and learn the material. Students always have the option of doing extra to earn more points by doing assignments they wish we would have had.
NOTE: Extra credit can only move you up to one letter grade maximum each quarter. I will only take extra credit from students who are working and trying in class. If they cheat in my class they also will not be allowed to do extra credit, and will lose any previous extra credit points. I do NOT want to reward students who choose not to try or do their work. Cheating is plagarism (copy/paste from the internet [this is so easy for me to check]), copying off a peer's work [this is NOT working together; working together is discussing an answer and then writing down an answer by yourself], looking at someone else's paper during a test, etc. You learn very little from this type of activity, and since you will study this content again next year and in high school - learn it well the first time! Of course hopefully none of you would fall into that situation.
I will take ANY form of extra credit. The more it looks like you have learned, the more points you get. PLAGIARISM = will give you no extra credit and remove previous extra credits you may have done. The following are just examples and by no means a complete list!
Studying!! Just have your parents sign a note including this information: how long you studied, what you studied and how you studied. Do not study for more that 20-25 minutes at a session (as that is all you will get credit for).

Anything - I leave it very open ended on purpose. Some students write stories. They can write a story that integrates the content. Others are artistic - they can draw out the content. I encourage each child to use their strength!
