After conferencing and testing with our school counselor, students will research one state-side college and one college in another country. Their research will include the following:

  • Identifying two colleges and what major and minors, and what area of study, are required by their career choice.
  • Comparing and contrasting the course study between the state-side college versus the overseas college.
  • Calculating tuition costs for both colleges and determining which scholarships available.

Students will write a persuasive essay after identifying the college their parents would lest like them to attend. Their “argument” must include the identified ways in which a persuasive paper is written.

8th Grade

After initial testing and conferencing with our school counselor, students will research two colleges they are most likely to attend. Their research will include the following:

  • Identifying the colleges and locate the faculty in their area of study.
  • Researching the tuition and scholarships available.
  • Emailing the school to request further information about the college to be sent to them.
  • Students will also identify a Nobel prize-winning person in their area of interest/study. They will write a resume for this person. The elements required to write a resume will be reviewed (schools attended, major papers written, inventions and/or designs initiated, etc).
